Short version:
1. Sign up on this forum using your IGN; if you didn't, have it listed somewhere.
2. No IC/OOC crossing.
3. Do not break Proboards' terms of service.
4. Do not use excessively large banners in the signature area.
5. Try to be polite.
Extended version:
1. Sign up on this forum using your IGN (In Game Name, what you sign into the Vampires game with) so that you are easily recognizable. If you have more than one account, use your main one - usually this one seems to be the most powerful in terms of blood/powers/items. Alternate accounts are generally not allowed; if you have any concerns, send a message to the admin (this forum account).
If you didn't sign up using your IGN, for whatever reason, it's no big deal - just have your IGN listed somewhere so that you can be identified (display name, personal text, or signature areas, accessed through the "profile" button on the left). Random accounts made on this forum will be deleted, to lessen the likelihood of spying taking place. That kind of thing does unfortunately happen, and it is recognizable.
2. No IC/OOC crossing. If you don't know what this is ("this" being IC, OOC, or Crossing), read the appropriate thread here that is also on this board. It will be explained; there's no point in having a rule that you don't understand.
3. Do NOT break Proboards' terms of service (TOS). If you are not already acquainted with the TOS, click that link and begin reading.
4. Try to limit your banner sizes to 250 pixels high and 500 pixels wide. Lines of text in the signature area (at the default size) will count as 10 pixels high.
Avatars can be a maximum of 300 height and 150 width.
Animated banners are fine, but try to keep them a reasonable size (anything over a megabyte or two is probably far too much) and at a reasonable frame rate (no strobing/flashing effects). Anything that might have the slightest chance of sending someone into epileptic shock is not good. Also, in keeping with Proboards' TOS, there cannot be any nudity in your signature or avatar spaces.
5. No deliberate OOC insults, flamebaiting, or being an arse in general. Try to also keep profanity to a minimum; most people like to see wit rather than curses.
And one more thing: if you haven't already, read the rest of the threads on this board. These are all visible to guests, so you don't even need to log in to read them. Also note that even when you do register on this forum, many boards may not be visible. As you progress onwards here, you will be able to see more and more of the site.
Afterthought: Some links may be hard to see, and although I have attempted to remedy this, mild confusion may be unavoidable. If you are unsure of something, click the "profile" link on the left. There is an option called "Modify Profile" - click that and scroll down. Under "Account Preferences" there is an section that says "Select Skin." Use the drop-down menu to select "Default" - the normal skin is "Steel." After finishing (be sure to click the "Modify Profile" button at the bottom) click any link you want; the appearance of the forum will have changed and you should be able to see things better.
